Legal Counsel

Responsibilities:

1.This role includes performance of the following:
Providing legal support and counsel to the business in the region supported;
2.Autonomously conducting contract negotiations with clients with a focus on software licensing, cloud offerings and data protection;
3.Coordinate responses to customer contract clauses, concerns and questions by seeking internal feedback from subject matter experts across the global organization (includes members of Finance, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Government, Risk Management, etc.);
4.Partner with internal clients and finance during contract negotiations;
5.Conduct training on legal issues for our business partners;
6.Handle matters of high risk, complexity and visibility within the business;
7.Handle litigation/arbitrations on behalf of the company;
8.Protect company’s curiosity about all areas and ensure the company’s operation is in line with laws and company policies.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

1.Hold the legal professional qualification certificate in China;
2.Significant experience in drafting and negotiating complicated legal agreements;
3.Customer-centric responsiveness and demeanor
Strong attention to detail;
4.Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements;
5.Ability to function as a member of a distributed team in a complex matrix environment as well as working in a virtually located business and legal team;
6.Proficient written and spoken English;
7.Ability to travel to the US annually.

Desired/Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience：

1.Experience in cloud agreements and a proven understanding of data protection;
2.Over six years’ legal practice in multinational company or reputable law firm.

Siemens Digital Industries Software is looking to hire a Legal Counsel to join the team responsible for handling/supporting commercial transactions for the Asia Pacific zone for the Global Sales & Customer Success (GSCS). This team forms a part of the worldwide DISW legal team.

The individual in this role will partner with the business on commercial transactions primarily for China for both the GSCS sales channel as well as the EDA sales channel. The successful candidate will be part of a team comprised of professionals throughout Asia Pacific and will also dotted line report into a distributed team which is primarily based in the US with a US manager.
